This album represents a group of artists of diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, with a range of identities and outlooks, who want to show their support for this unifying notion: Immigrants belong here. Many immigrants to the United States have ancestors who were in North and South America long before our relatives were, so not only is the way our country treats immigrants immoral, it is hypocritical. Immigrants do not deserve to just survive in this country, they deserve respect, resources, and opportunities. They deserve to thrive. Immigrants are not the enemy of other working class Americans, our enemy is those withholding vast amounts of labor-generated wealth. We will not stand for the attempts to create a divide between between our friends and and neighbors who may have been born within different borders.

The proceeds from album sales will be distributed evenly to Freedom for Immigrants and KIND (Kids in Need of Defense). Freedom for Immigrants operates a hotline for immigrants and their families to report abuse, and a national bond fund to allow immigrants to be released while they await trial. KIND offers legal services to unaccompanied children who are in detention facilities, as well as support such as health care and social services.
